Telemental Health and Diverse Populations amid COVID-19

Telemental health is defined as the delivery of psychological and mental services via telecommunication technologies, including telephone-delivered therapy, videoconferencing, internet-delivered programs. Research indicates that telemental are effective in-person services, a dramatic increase in use has been observed during COVID-19. However, there still persistent challenges concerns about providers’ competencies, clients’ data privacy, legal regulatory issues this pandemic. Additionally, disparities with diverse populations, based on factors such age, gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, language, culture, have identified
